Today the society held its second virtual meeting, which was a huge success.
So much so, that we have decided that during lockdown we will hold virtual meetings EVERY Friday evening. The meetings not only help us enjoy the chosen wine (more details below) but it helps continue and strengthen the social bonds that we enjoy, and quite frankly, deal with the stresses and strains of the very necessary lockdown.
In short – It’s good to talk!
The society has adjusted the meetings to suit the restrictions of lockdown:
The wine for the evening is chosen by a nominated member and each member acquires the chosen wine. In practice this is done to comply completely with the lockdown regulations and minimise travel and contacts. We then meet virtually, taste and discuss the wine, along with numerous other topics.
Although it’s not quite as good as our in person meetings at the Ponthir Village Hall it helps us all keep in contact and to stay as sane as we possibly can be in the current circumstances.
