As the title suggests, this week we had a themed meeting with all of the wines originating from South Africa. However, the evening started with a visit to our Scribes home for a cold drink in his garden in the warm sunny weather. Well that was the plan until it started raining and we beat a hasty retreat indoors. A big thank you to Mrs T for hosting the societies pre-meeting, meeting. The most popular wine of the evening was a Kruger Merlot from the Stellenbosch region of South Africa brought by our Chief Pourer Stuart, scoring a very creditable 14:67. The full list of wines sampled can be found here…
This week’s meeting saw first time guest Lewis join us to sample the wine and the society proceedings. The evening concluded with a glass of Port courtesy of our Scribe, Talbot.
Hiding from the rain.
A very enjoyable South African themed evening!
